Monstera Bulbasaur – Young TC Plant (Exact Plant #1–14). Photos taken 16/2/26.
This Monstera Bulbasaur has now successfully completed acclimatisation and is ready for its new home.
Originally grown from tissue culture, this plant has transitioned well into a stable home environment and has begun developing secondary roots. It is now growing as a young plant rather than a plantlet, with healthy foliage and natural variegation already showing.
The plant you see in the photos is the exact plant you will receive.
Current growing setup
This plant has been thriving in typical home conditions:
Day temperature: around 22°C
Night temperature: around 18°C
Humidity: approx. 55%
Grown in perlite to encourage strong root development
It is stable and growing well, but like all recently acclimatised tissue culture plants, it is still in the early stages of establishing a full root system.
Potting & root development
The plant should remain in its perlite for a good while longer while the root system continues to build. You can repot once a healthy mass of roots has developed, more is better!
Feeding & watering
Water roughly every couple of weeks, depending on your home environment. You can always do the 'pick up' test, when light and no condensation then a drop of water, if heavy and condensation then wait.
When watering, use a very weak feed (around quarter strength) to gently introduce nutrients as the plant continues to establish. Id reccomend feeding on alternate waters.
The leaves are still naturally delicate and have not been treat with anything, so so no strong sprays, gently ease the plant into a day to day life.
