My Living Room Plant Collection: The Misfits I Love
These plants are my own collection — the ones I started picking up back in that blurry mid-lockdown era. A lot of them were the “unwanted” ones… the plants other people didn’t fancy, didn’t understand, or just gave up on. But me? I saw potential. I always do.
They’re not dramatic. They don’t kick off. They just sit in my living room, quietly thriving, doing their own thing. Sure, the odd brown spot pops up here and there, but that’s just plants being plants — nothing a bit of love and a shrug can’t handle.
Every single one of them tells a story. Maybe it arrived with a weird leaf. Maybe it grew wonky. Maybe it was a rescue that nobody else believed in. But I did. And watching them settle in and grow — even if it’s slow, even if it’s sideways — is why I love them.
These aren’t perfect showroom plants. They’re real. They’ve lived life. And I adore them for it.
