NurtureSystem X-Vitro™ – Tissue Culture Acclimation Solution

X-Vitro™ has now become part of our own tissue culture acclimatisation routine here at Chop n Grow — and we've been genuinely impressed with the results.
We've now used X-Vitro across three large tissue culture shipments, giving us the opportunity to try it across a wide range of plants rather than just a handful of test subjects.
Since introducing it, we've experienced extremely low plant losses, alongside lots of healthy new root growth and new leaves. We've also found that many of our tissue cultures are progressing through acclimatisation noticeably faster than they did using our previous routine.
For many of the varieties we regularly work with, our usual acclimatisation process of around six weeks has reduced to approximately four weeks, with plants able to progress through humidity reduction sooner.
We even tested X-Vitro with some of our Monstera Bulbasaurs, which established successfully without needing the 100% humidity conditions we'd normally begin with.
Of course, every tissue culture is different. Smaller plantlets and more delicate varieties can still require a longer acclimatisation period, and we always recommend responding to the individual plant rather than rushing the process.
But after using X-Vitro on a substantial amount of our own stock, it's firmly earned its place in our TC routine. 🌱
What is X-Vitro™?
The move from sterile tissue culture into normal growing conditions is one of the most vulnerable stages of a young plant's development.
X-Vitro™ by NurtureSystem is a specialist acclimation solution developed specifically to support tissue culture plantlets through this transition, helping support early root initiation, growth and strong establishment outside the flask.
During acclimatisation, plantlets suddenly face lower humidity, exposure to microbes and the challenge of functioning with relatively underdeveloped roots and cuticles. X-Vitro is designed specifically for this stage.
How to use
1 sachet = 5 ml and makes 1 litre of X-Vitro solution.
Give the sachet a good shake before opening to ensure the contents are thoroughly mixed.
Add the full 5 ml sachet to 1 litre of lukewarm water and mix well.
Use the prepared X-Vitro™ solution as part of your normal tissue culture acclimatisation process after removing the plantlet from culture and thoroughly rinsing away the remaining culture medium.
A little note from Chop n Grow 🌿
Here at Chop n Grow we use ordinary lukewarm Yorkshire tap water when preparing our X-Vitro solution — no RO water or complicated water preparation. This is the method we've used throughout our own X-Vitro trials and acclimatisation.
Important: X-Vitro is designed to support your normal acclimatisation protocol. It doesn't mean every variety can immediately be removed from high humidity — adjust humidity and acclimatisation time according to the individual plant.
