HerpCoir, primarily used as a substrate for reptiles and amphibians, can also be beneficial for plants due to its unique properties. It offers excellent water retention, good drainage, and aeration, making it a suitable addition to potting mixes or even a standalone medium. Its neutral pH also makes it versatile for a wide range of plants.

HerpCoir is also a premium coir substrate that is 100% organic, sustainably sourced and perfect for all reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. Coir is made from coconut husk generated as a by-product of other industries, making it a sustainable resource.

When made damp this coir substrate aids burrowing and holds humidity, making it perfect for animals requiring high levels of humidity. It’s manufacturing process involves sterilisation so it should not mould or rot, even if made incredibly damp. It can also be used dry for species from arid environments.

It’s non-abrasive nature makes it great for juvenile animals and those with softer skin. It is highly absorbent and keeps odours at bay. Easy to clean and replace these loose bags are ready to use straight out the packaging.
